Hey — I’m Stephen Scaff. I’m a design technologist (a fancy way of saying design-minded engineer) originally from Pittsburgh, now living in the Pacific Northwest with my wife, Ligaya, and our three kids: Cillian (10), Finn (6), and Sylvie (3).
I’ve spent my career working at the intersection of design and engineering. I’ve worked at Amazon, and today I run a Design Technology team at eBay, focused on modernizing a historic internet brand. Working on massive marketplaces taught me a lot about how products are built, sold, and—often—compromised at scale.
I built Nokotoko to make it easier for parents to find high-quality, well-designed products for their kids. The world is flooded with cheaply made, mass-produced stuff, and I believe it’s worth supporting brands that care about quality, durability, and sustainability.
Every product featured on Nokotoko comes from brands committed to thoughtful design and long-lasting craft. Ligaya and I hope we can help promote companies making genuinely good things for kids—and to help parents discover products their families will actually love and use.
This project is something of an experiement, and we'd love your feedback and recommendations. Please hit us up, we'd love to hear from you!
